Description of Falling Film Evaporator


The function of single-effect falling film evaporator is to separate the ethanol from material and condense and recover it through reduced pressure vacuum and evaporation. The single-effect falling film evaporator used for ethanol solution production is different from the general single-effect falling film evaporator used for aqueous solution production.

Working Principle of Falling Film Evaporator


Falling film evaporator can be used for solutions with higher viscosity, so the concentration of the discharged solution is higher than that of the natural circulation evaporator. Falling film evaporator has a large heat transfer coefficient and is not greatly affected by changes in the heat transfer temperature difference. It can be operated at a wide heat transfer temperature, so the heat transfer temperature difference can be changed to adapt to the unstable feed liquid volume. Falling film evaporator has the advantages of compact equipment, small heat transfer area, small amount of liquid storage, not easy to scale, and strong adaptability to easy foaming solutions.


Application of Falling Film Evaporator


Single-effect falling film evaporator is widely used in food, dairy, chemical, pharmaceutical, biological engineering,environmental protection engineering and corn deep processing, such as for aqueous solutions, organic solvent solutions, fruit and vegetable juices, milk, eggs, vitamin C, collagen , Tea immersion liquid, sodium glutamate and other evaporative concentration. It is especially suitable for evaporative concentration of heat-sensitive materials, and the beneficial elements of the material can be protected to the greatest extent during the heating and evaporation process.


Operation of  Falling Film Evaporator


(1) Open the cooling circulating water valve ①. Turn on the vacuum pump P04.

(2) Turn on electric steam boiler F01 (refer to Appendix 1 for use of electric steam boiler).

(3) When the vacuum pressure reaches -0.06mpa or more, open the feed valve ⑦ and the feed pump P01. The liquid level in the separator can generally reach the middle of the sight glass. After reaching the liquid level, open the discharge pump P02 and the return valve ③. Adjust the opening of the return valve ③ to make the liquid level balanced.

(4) After the inlet and outlet materials are balanced (observe the L1, L2 scales, and the valve is adjusted to make the flow rate the same), open the steam valve ②, heat the materials in the system, and adjust the opening degree of the steam valve ② to meet the evaporation speed requirements.

(5) When the material concentration meets the requirements (concentration needs to be sampled and tested), open the discharge valve ⑤, close the return valve ③, and pour the concentrated liquid into the concentrated liquid tank. Due to continuous evaporation and discharge, the liquid level in the intermediate tank V01 gradually decreases, and the material liquid in the intermediate tank V01 needs to be replenished in time.

(6) When the condensate reaches the sight glass level in the condensate collection tank V02, start the condensate pump P03, drain the condensate, and turn off the condensate pump P03 after draining.
