Air is filtered and heated before entering the air distributor at the top of the dryer; the hot air then flows spirally and evenly into the drying chamber.
Liquid feed is sprayed into fine droplets by a high-speed centrifugal atomizer located at the top of the tower.
These droplets come into contact with the hot air for a very short duration, drying rapidly into the finished product. The finished product is continuously discharged from the bottoms of the drying tower and the cyclone separator, while exhaust air is vented by an induced draft fan.
High-speed drying: Atomization vastly increases the surface area of the liquid feed, enabling 95%–98% of the water to evaporate instantly in the hot air stream. Drying takes only a few seconds, making the process ideal for heat-sensitive materials and resulting in products with excellent uniformity, flowability, solubility, purity, and quality. The production process is streamlined, and operation is easy to control. Liquid feeds with moisture contents of 40%–90% can be dried into powder in a single step, eliminating the need for subsequent grinding or screening; this simplifies production and enhances product purity. Key product characteristics—such as particle size, bulk density, and moisture content—can be adjusted within specific ranges by modifying operating conditions, ensuring convenient control and management.
Retractable CIP nozzles provide comprehensive coverage of the main tower, piping, and cyclone collector, facilitating easy cleaning and operation, preventing contamination, and ensuring compliance with GMP standards.
